Tourism Digital Signage with QR Code Integration (And a Little Wine Thrown In)

You may have noticed that Creative Search Media is passionate about digital signage and QR Codes - heck we’re betting our future on their success. But, what you might not know is that we’re also partial to a little wine - especially when it comes from Santa Cruz Mountain wineries close to our offices in Scotts Valley, California. We like to think local!
Anyhow, we decided to combine these three things - digital signage, QR Codes and wine - and come up with a touch-screen digital signage demonstration that shows how two relatively new technologies can work together to create an interactive advertising medium for placement in hotels, tourism centers, museums, airports and many more places tourists visit.
Watch the short video demo then tell us what you think. If you’re really nice, we might send you a bottle of wine from one of our local wineries.
if you are going to publish a microsite landing page for each winery then along with google mobile map links you should add additional interactivity.
my suggestion would be to allow plain text fields for people to save their personal tasting notes and to makes those notes available via a website for later reference.
another suggestion si that you should leave a space for purchase notes, this way people who have purchased X number of bottles or what type at how much etc can review their notes the next day etc.
lol lets just say I’ve been on wine crawl weekends before and realised the next day i dont remember how much i paid for each of the 6 or 8 bottle types that i purchased.
It wouldn’t be somethign that i would pay for (unless you had a really really comprehensive list of all wineries across the country) but i think you would be able to go get really high cpm’s because of the specific demographics to warrant the further development of this app.
Great use of a QR code, especially with 3G phones that can map straignt to the winery location. Might even be able to use them for specials or deals at the winery.
Great demo. I will definitely be sending others to check this out.
Also, great idea on combining digital signage and QR Codes. You could also tie in the Geo-intelligence of the phone to give directions to the winery based on the stored information fromt the QR Code. This would be helpful if they decided not to travel there for a few days.
It would make the travel and tourism industry a much better one - definitely! Imagine if we logged into Yahoo Travel and there are QR Codes there and we could snap a picture of the QR Codes with our phones….it would make life so much simpler for travelers….especially if they had it in foreign languages and ability to translate!
And the bottle of wine goes to…drum roll…Mr. Dean Collins. Dean, red or white? And we’ll need your address so send an email to julia [at] creativesearchmedia.com.
I am incredibly interested in working with a company focused on QR codes in London. Does anyone know of an ad agency or digital media agency working on these based in London? My email address is jozette07@gmail.com.
