Susan Boyle and the QR Code - From Obscurity to Success
Friday, April 24th, 2009 by Julia HydeIt’s interesting what a little airtime can do. Take Susan Boyle, the extraordinary singer who appeared on Britain’s got talent. This dowdy, middle-aged women went from total obscurity to international fame overnight. Just hours after her performance on the show, videos were uploaded to YouTube and watched by millions of people around the globe.
Now take the humble QR Code. This little known, but rather nifty tool has, much like Susan Boyle, has gone from relative obscurity to overnight sensation due, in part, to the creativity of Artist, Takashi Murakami and the envelope-pushing advertising of well-known brand, Louis Vuitton.
The pair took the unattractive QR Code, turned it into something of beauty, and showed the world its virtually unlimited potential.
So let’s raise our glasses to both the extraordinary singer, Susan Boyle, and the extraordinary QR Code. Cheers! May you be celebrities for ever!

We got a lot of coverage for our QR code but your piece was by far the funniest! We were actually cursing the timing of it all. Perhaps if we had launched a week earlier it would be our team getting the makeovers. Susan definitely stole our thunder. Thank you and please get in touch.
